Om Traders

Om Traders is located at Main Bazar 14 on Sojat Road. It is a busy place to work. We deal with various goods that people need for their own shops or for their homes. It is more of a supply place than a regular little retail store. Every morning, a truck usually arrives with new stock from the city. We have to unload everything quickly and find a place for it in the back. The shop is basically a large room filled with boxes, crates, and bags. It is not very pretty to look at. We have a heavy wooden desk where I keep all the papers and the cash box. The floor is made of concrete and has some cracks in it from the heavy weights. Most of our customers are other business owners or people from the surrounding villages. They usually know exactly what they want and they do not stay long. We talk about the market rates and the supply chains. It is straightforward business. Sometimes the phone rings all day with people asking for prices. I have a helper who does most of the heavy lifting. We drink a lot of tea to stay awake during the long, hot afternoons. I have been here so long that I know exactly which floorboards creak when you walk on them. There is no air conditioning, just the big front doors open to the street. It gets noisy with the tractors and cars outside. We close up once the market starts to empty out.
