If you look around the Old Bus Stand, you’ll find Maruti Telelink tucked away where the crowds usually gather. It is a noisy spot because of all the buses coming and going, but that keeps us busy. People are always in a hurry here. They stop in for a quick recharge or maybe a pair of headphones because they lost theirs on the journey. I spend my day looking out at the commuters and the vendors outside. The shop isn't fancy. It has some basic shelving and a counter that has seen better days. I keep the logs of who came in and what they needed. Some days it is just constant questions about bus timings, even though we are a mobile shop. I don't mind though. Being at the Old Bus Stand means you see everyone. Sometimes the floor gets a bit muddy when it rains, so I have to keep the mop handy. There’s a specific smell of diesel and tea from the nearby stall that stays in the shop all day. I usually have the radio playing low in the background to pass the time between customers. We have a few chargers plugged in the back for testing things. It’s just me and the occasional helper. We stay open until the last few buses leave. It can be a long day but the activity keeps me going through the afternoon slump. Most people around here know me now and stop by just to say hello even if they don't buy anything.
