Mahalaxmi Mobile Plaza is on Mandia Road and it is usually filled with the sound of ringtones and people talking over each other. It is a narrow shop but we have managed to cram a lot of glass counters inside to hold all the different phone cases and chargers. Mandia Road is always loud with people shouting and horns honking, so you have to speak up when you are inside the store. I spend most of my day looking at small screens or trying to peel old screen protectors off without scratching the glass underneath. The air conditioner works most of the time but when the power goes out, it gets quite stuffy in here very fast. People come in from all over the area because they dropped their phone or they need a new cable since their old one frayed. It is not a quiet place to work and there is always something buzzing or beeping on the workbench in the back. I have some chairs for people to sit on while they wait, but they are a bit wobbly. The walls have posters of old phones that nobody buys anymore, but I haven't had the time to take them down. Working at Mandia Road means you see a lot of different people every day, all of them looking for a way to fix their gadgets. It is just a normal mobile shop with wires tangled behind the desk and boxes piled in the corners.
