Khalsa Mobiles

If you walk down Partap Bazar near the Rani N S Shoe Store, you will find our little spot. Khalsa Mobiles is a small shop, mostly filled with glass counters and boxes of phone cases stacked up. There is always a pile of broken screens on the back workbench that I need to get to. It gets a bit cramped when more than three people come in at once, but we manage to make it work. The shoe store next door is a good landmark because people are always walking past there. We spend a lot of time squinting at tiny screws and trying to fix charging ports that have gone bad. The lights in the shop are bright so we can see what we are doing with the small parts inside the phones. I usually have a cup of tea sitting somewhere that I keep forgetting to finish before it gets cold. It’s a noisy part of the market with people shouting and bikes honking, but inside it’s mostly just the sound of a hairdryer heating up glue or the clicking of buttons. We have all sorts of cables and chargers hanging from hooks on the walls. Sometimes kids come in just to look at the new models even if they aren't buying anything today. It’s a steady kind of day, fixing one phone after another. I like it when a repair goes quickly and the customer is happy.
