I’ve been working at Jagdamba Electronics on Sojat Road for quite a few years now. We sell things like televisions, fans, and small kitchen appliances. It’s a lot of work to keep the displays clean because the road outside is always under some kind of repair and the dust is constant. Most of our customers are locals from the nearby villages who are looking for something reliable for their homes. I spend a lot of time explaining how the different models work. We also do some repair work in the back room. You’ll find old circuit boards and wires scattered all over my workbench. Sometimes I can fix an old radio or a fan that someone brought in, and other times it’s just too far gone. People trust us because we’ve been here so long. We don't use any fancy sales talk; I just tell them what I know about the product. If a fridge has a problem, they call me and I go over to their house to take a look at it. It’s a lot of traveling back and forth on my old scooter. The shop isn't very big, but we manage to fit quite a bit inside. It’s a good feeling when someone comes back after five years to buy something else because the first thing I sold them is still working fine. It keeps me going every day.
