Jaagosri Mobile World is situated out on Sardar Samand Road. It’s a bit of a stretch of road where people are usually heading somewhere else, but they pull over here when they need something for their phones. We keep a good stock of second-hand handsets and all the usual accessories like screen guards and sturdy cases. The dust from the road is a bit of a constant battle, so I’m always wiping down the glass counters. It’s just me and a small workbench in the back for when someone brings in a phone with a dead battery. I learned most of this by just doing it over the years. The shop isn't very large, so if three or four people come in at once, it feels pretty crowded. I usually have a radio playing in the background to keep things from being too quiet. People from the nearby villages often stop by on their way into town. They want something that works and doesn't cost too much, so that's what I try to keep on the shelves. There isn't any fancy lighting or big ads outside, just a simple board with the name on it. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. I like the independence of it, even if some days are longer than others when a tricky repair comes in.
