Gehlot Tent House

Our place is Gehlot Tent House and you can find us on Rani Kenpura Road. We deal with all the stuff needed for putting up tents and temporary shelters for events. It’s a lot of physical work, moving heavy metal poles and folding big, thick sheets of fabric. The yard is usually full of pipes and bundles of cloth that have seen a lot of use over the years. Rani Kenpura Road isn't the busiest road in town, but it has enough traffic and people passing by to keep us busy. We spend most of our time loading and unloading trucks that come and go. Sometimes the fabric gets dirty or torn during an event and we have to spend the whole afternoon cleaning or mending it by hand. It’s not a clean job, you get dust on your clothes and your hands get rough from handling the ropes and metal frames. We don’t have a fancy showroom with air conditioning, just a big open space to store everything. We know most of the people who live around here because they see us working out front every single day. The sun can be quite hot on the road, so we try to do all the heavy lifting early in the morning before it gets too bad. Sometimes we sit under the shade of a half-folded tent and have our lunch together. It is just honest work with our hands. We have been on this road for quite some time now and it feels like home.
