Started the shop at Akhria Chowk quite a few years back now. It gets busy here at the crossing with all the traffic coming through Sadri. Most of the day is spent looking through a magnifying glass at small watch gears or trying to figure out why a phone won't charge properly. We have the usual stuff on the shelves, some wristwatches and basic mobile phones, but a lot of the work is just fixing what people bring in. It is dusty outside because of the road, so I spend a good amount of time cleaning the glass counters every morning before the first person walks in. Sometimes the tea stall next door brings over a cup and we talk about the weather while I work on a strap. It isn't a fancy place, just a small counter and some stools for people to sit while they wait for their battery to be replaced. I keep a stock of screen guards and some chargers because that is what everyone asks for these days. My hands get a bit cramped by the evening from the tiny screws, but it is okay. The lights at the chowk stay on late, so I usually hang around until the sun goes down and then lock up the shutters. It’s just how things go here every day, nothing too special but it keeps us busy enough in this part of town.
