Saraswathi Vidyalaya Higher Secondary School

Out here on Waghral Pada Road in Vasai East, things feel a little different than the busier parts of the city. We are based in the Palghar district, and the school serves a lot of the local families who live in the surrounding area. The building is a standard structure, nothing too elaborate, and we deal with the typical issues like the dust from the road and the heat during the summer months. Our days start early because many of the students have to walk a good distance to get here. We have classrooms for the older kids too, since we are a higher secondary school. The halls are usually full of teenagers talking and moving between their subjects. It is not a quiet place, but it is a productive one. The staff spends their breaks in the small common room, usually drinking tea and talking about the day’s lessons. We do not have a lot of high-tech equipment, so we rely on traditional methods and a lot of hard work. The administrative office is always busy with people coming in to check on records or ask about admissions. Being in Vasai East means we are part of a growing community, and you can see new buildings going up all around us. It is a bit of a gritty area sometimes, but we just keep our heads down and do the work that needs to be done every day. It is just the way we do things here.
