Running a place as big as Narsinh Govindrao Vartak English Medium High School and Junior College takes a lot of effort every day. We are located on Veer Savarkar Marg in Virar East. It’s a busy road, especially in the mornings when the buses come through. We have students ranging from the little ones all the way up to junior college age. It makes for a very noisy environment, but you get used to it after a while. The hallways are usually packed during the breaks. We have to manage the schedule carefully so everyone gets their turn in the labs or the courtyard. Being in Palghar, we deal with the humidity and the heavy monsoon rains every year. The walls have some marks on them from years of kids carrying bags, but it shows the place is used. We don't have a lot of extra frills. It’s a practical setup for learning. Most parents around here work hard and they expect their kids to do the same. We have a small office where the paperwork piles up, but we stay on top of it. Some of the desks are getting old, but they still work fine for the lessons. It's just a regular school day, repeated five or six times a week depending on the exams. We just keep the doors open and do the work. The bell rings, and we start all over again.
