S K C School And Junior College is located in Vasai East, which is a busy part of Palghar. We have a lot of students here, from the very small children up to the teenagers in junior college. It makes for a very noisy and active environment. Because space is tight in this part of town, the building is used quite heavily. We have a morning shift and an afternoon shift to fit everyone in. You can hear the school bell ringing all the way down the street. The junior college students are usually more serious, worrying about their boards, while the school kids are just running around whenever they get a chance. The classrooms are pretty standard with wooden benches and blackboards. We have a small office where we keep all the records and handle the parents who come in to pay fees. Vasai East is a crowded place, so we have to be careful when the kids are leaving to make sure they get to the station or their buses safely. Sometimes the roof leaks a bit when the monsoon is really heavy, but we just move the desks and carry on. We don't have a lot of extra space for things like a big library, but we make do with what we have. It’s a local school for the families living in the nearby apartment blocks and chawls. It’s just a normal, everyday place for education.
