R. B. Engineering Works

R. B. Engineering Works is tucked away in the Waliv Industrial Estate over in Vasai East. We actually have three different units here—number 1, 2, and 16. It sounds like a lot of space but once you get all the heavy tools and benches in there, it gets cramped pretty fast. Sarivali is a busy area, lots of trucks and other shops doing their own thing. We spend most of our time between these three units, making sure things are running okay. It’s not the quietest place to work, but we are used to it. Some days are longer than others, especially when a machine breaks down or we have a big pile of parts to get through. We don’t really do fancy meetings or anything like that. Usually, we just talk over the noise of the shop floor. It’s just us doing engineering work day in and day out. Being in Vasai East means we see a lot of the same faces around the estate. We’ve been at this address for a bit now and it feels like home, even with all the grease and metal shavings everywhere. If you come by Unit 1, someone is usually there to answer the door, though they might be a bit busy with a wrench or a lathe. It’s just a straightforward operation here. Nothing more, nothing less. We just keep the motors turning and the metal moving until the lights go off.
