Our workshop is located at No. 32 in Gidrai Park, right opposite Paradhi Sativali near Tungar Fata on the Tungeshwar Road in Vasai East. The address lists Sativali twice, probably because that’s the main landmark everyone uses around here. It is a bit of a mouthful to explain, but once you arrive, you can't miss the sound of metal being cut. We are in a busy part of Vasai where there is always something being built. The shop floor is usually covered in iron shavings and offcuts from whatever project we are currently finishing. It is heavy work, lifting steel beams and using the lathe to get the right shape. We don't have much in the way of decoration; the walls are just bare brick and the floor is hard concrete. There are welding machines and gas cylinders standing around, and the air is often thick with the smell of hot metal and grease. Being near the Tungar Fata area means we get a lot of local business from the surrounding construction sites. We spend our days measuring twice and cutting once, trying to keep the scrap to a minimum. It’s a hot and dusty environment, but the guys here are used to the grind. We mostly deal with structural stuff that needs to be strong and sturdy. It isn't a place for someone who minds getting their clothes dirty, because by the end of the day, everyone is covered in soot and oil from the machines.
