We operate out of unit D9 in the Saiya Industrial Estate. If you know where Sagar Hotel is on the Kaman Bhiwandi Road, we’re right across from there. It’s a bit of a dusty area with all the trucks moving around, but that’s just how it is in Kaman. We do a lot of metal work and machining here. The machines can be noisy, so we usually have to shout a bit to hear each other. We’ve been in Vasai East for quite some time. My father started with just one lathe machine and now we have a few more pieces of equipment. It’s hard work, grease on the hands every day, but it’s what we know. The road out front gets really busy during the morning shift changes. Sometimes the power cuts out for a few hours, so we just sit outside and wait for it to come back on. We don't have a fancy reception area or anything like that. Just the workshop floor and a small desk in the corner for the bills. Most of our regular customers are other small factories around Thane who need parts fixed or made from scratch. We try to get things done when we say we will, but sometimes parts take longer to arrive. It's a straightforward business. We don't do any big talk, just focus on the drawings and the metal. The heat in the shed gets pretty intense during May, but we’re used to it.
