Krishnasamy Nagar Ganga Nagar Matriculation School is located at Connel Pareira House. It’s out in Vasai West on Sagarshet Road, which is a bit of a way from the main station area. The walk from the main road can be long if the sun is really beating down. We are near Chittarbhat and it’s a fairly quiet part of Palghar. The school itself is in a house-like structure so it doesn’t feel like those big cold institutions you see in the city center. We have a lot of stairs and the rooms are spread out in a way that takes some getting used to. I remember when we first started here, the road wasn't even paved properly. Now it’s better but it still feels like a local village school in some ways. We don't have air conditioning or anything like that, just fans that hum all day long. The students come from all the surrounding areas, some walking and some on bicycles. We spend a lot of time just making sure the registers are filled out and the kids aren't making too much noise in the corridors. It’s a very hands-on kind of place. There is a lot of dust because of the nearby construction but we try to keep the classrooms clean. It’s just a plain school doing the work every day without any fuss or big advertisements. We like it that way.
