Desire Engineering Works

Our workshop is on the first floor of the Kasturi Industrial Estate in Bhayandar East. It’s right near the Goddev Fatak Road, which stays pretty jammed with traffic. When you walk up the stairs, the first thing you hear is the sound of metal being cut or ground down. It’s a noisy place to be. We have several machines bolted to the floor, and they’ve been there for years. There are oil stains on the concrete that we can’t seem to get out, no matter what we try. I usually wear overalls because of all the grease and sparks. It’s hot in here, especially when the welding machines are running. We have a small cabin in the corner with a glass window where we keep the blueprints and the phone, but I’m usually out on the floor. We make various engineering parts and fix things that people bring in. It’s precise work, even if the shop looks a bit rough around the edges. We don't have a website or a fancy logo. People find us because they know we can handle the heavy stuff. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a part for a customer who needs it the next morning. We just put on the extra lights and keep going. The industrial estate is full of other shops just like ours, so there’s always a sense of everyone working hard. It’s a gritty, honest way to spend the day.
