Shubalakshmi Auto Driving School

Up in Sanquelim, you’ll find our little driving school. We have been helping people in this part of Goa learn how to handle a car for some time now. Shubalakshmi Auto Driving School is just a straightforward operation. We have a couple of cars that we use for the lessons. The roads around here can be a bit narrow and winding, which is actually good for practice. We meet our students, sit in the passenger seat, and help them understand the clutch and the gears. It’s not always easy. Some people are very nervous when they first start out. We just take it one day at a time. Our office is a small space where we deal with the driving license forms and the schedules. We don’t spend much time there, though. We are usually out on the road. Most of the people who come to us are locals from Sanquelim or the nearby villages. They just want to be able to get to work or run errands without needing someone else to drive them around. We don't have a website or anything fancy. People just know where we are located. It’s honest work, and we see a lot of people finally getting their license after a few weeks of practice. It is good to see them gain that bit of independence.
