Mandovi Driving School

If you go to 31st January Road in Altinho, you will see Mandovi Driving School. If you know Panjim, you know the streets around here are narrow and winding. It is actually a good place for a driving school because if you can drive here, you can drive anywhere. We have been teaching people how to handle a car for quite a while. The office in Cortin is small and mostly filled with paperwork and old manuals. We spend most of our time out on the road anyway. The cars are basic models, nothing fancy, because they get a lot of wear and tear from beginners grinding the gears. We usually start the lessons early in the morning before the heat gets too bad and the tourist traffic picks up. Altinho is a hilly area, so our students get plenty of practice with hill starts, which usually makes them pretty nervous. We don't have a big staff, just a few instructors who know these roads like the back of their hands. The vibe in the office is very relaxed. We sit around and chat between lessons, maybe have some tea. People just walk in off the street to ask about prices or schedules. We don't use any high-tech simulators or anything like that. It is just a car, an instructor, and the open road. It is a simple business and we like it that way. Most of our students come from the local neighborhood in Goa.
