The Modular Kitchen

The Modular Kitchen is located in Old Mustafabad, Gali No. 22. We’ve been at H-120 for some time now. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze in this street, but we make it work. Most of our day is spent looking at drawings or cutting pieces to size. We don’t have a big showroom with bright lights and fancy music. It’s more of a workshop feel here. You’ll hear the saw running most of the afternoon. We mostly do cabinets and racks for people living nearby. Sometimes we get orders from further away, but mostly it is just locals. My brother and I started this because we knew how to work with wood and laminate. It isn't always easy, especially when the power goes out or the weather gets too humid for the glue to dry right. We just try to get the jobs done on time. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in Delhi or anything like that. We just want to keep the shop going and do decent work for the neighbors. People usually just walk in and ask for a quote. We write it down on a notepad and go from there. No fancy computers or marketing people here. It is just us and the tools. If you’re around Gali 22, you’ll probably see us unloading materials from the rickshaws. That’s pretty much the whole story of our place and how we spend our time.
