Gupta Appliances

If you are walking around Karawal Nagar, you probably know where the big water tank is. We are right near there at K-250. Gupta Appliances has been sitting on this corner for quite some time now. The shop is usually full of boxes, and sometimes they spill out onto the sidewalk if a big delivery just came in. It’s not a fancy showroom with bright spotlights. We have some ceiling fans going to keep the air moving, and there is always a bit of dust because of the road construction nearby. People stop in all day asking about parts or looking at the newer models we have sitting out. The street outside is usually loud with rickshaws and people shouting, so it is never really quiet inside the shop. We know most of the neighbors by name since they’ve been coming here for years. My desk is tucked in the back under a light that flickers a bit. We don't spend money on fancy signs or uniforms. It’s just us in our regular clothes helping out whoever walks through the door. Sometimes we have tea delivered from the stall down the street, and we sit on the stools talking to customers about the weather or the local news. It’s a simple life running a shop in this part of town, and we like the routine of opening up every morning and seeing the familiar faces of Karawal Nagar passing by.
