We operate Bhagawati Manufacturers from 168, Chajju Singh Gate in the Babarpur area of Shahdara. If you’ve ever walked through the lanes around Shahdara, you know it’s a place that never really stays quiet. Our workshop at 168 is always humming with the sound of machines or someone loading up a tempo near the gate. Chajju Singh Gate is a bit of a landmark for us. It’s where we spend most of our waking hours. The walls inside have seen better days, and the floor is usually covered in bits and pieces of whatever we are making that week. Manufacturing isn't always pretty, and it sure isn't quiet. We have a small crew that has been with us for years, and we all know how the machines at Bhagawati Manufacturers like to behave. The Babarpur summers are pretty rough, so we keep the old coolers running as much as possible. Sometimes the power cuts out and we just sit outside the gate for a bit, watching the traffic go by until things kick back in. It is a simple setup at 168, but it works for us. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. Just the workspace, some desks for the paperwork, and a lot of grease and hard work. People around here have known us for a long time. Tucked away in this part of Shahdara suits our style just fine. We keep the kettle going for tea throughout the long afternoon shift.
