Wazir Chand & Brothers

Our place, Wazir Chand & Brothers, is located at 4923 Hauz Qazi. If you know this part of Delhi, you know how crowded and old the buildings are. We’ve been in this spot for generations, really. The shop is narrow and goes back quite a way. It’s filled with hardware and metal items from floor to ceiling. Hauz Qazi is a tough place to navigate with a car, so most of our customers walk or use rickshaws. We don't have a fancy showroom. It's just us, the inventory, and a wooden counter that has seen better days. We handle things as they come. Wazir Chand & Brothers isn't a company with a big board of directors. It’s just a family business that’s stayed put while the city changed around it. The walls are thick and it stays relatively cool inside even when the sun is beating down on the street outside. We keep our books manually for the most part. It’s the way we’ve always done it. There is a lot of history in this building. We don't spend money on advertising or shiny signs. People find us because they’ve been coming here for years or someone told them to. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the first customer to arrive. It's just what we do every day without fail.
