We've been here in Hauz Qazi for quite a long time now. My father started things and now we just keep it going from this small spot in Gali Hakim Baqa. It's usually pretty crowded outside our door, but that's just how this part of the city is. We deal with the usual hardware and stuff people need around here. Most days involve just sitting here, taking orders, and making sure the boxes go out to the right people. It isn't anything fancy. The shelves are a bit dusty and we know most of our neighbors by their first names. If you come looking for 3404-B-1, you might miss it if you're walking too fast. We don't really do big ads or anything like that. People just find us because they know we've been in the same place for years. Sometimes the traffic in the narrow lanes makes deliveries a bit of a headache, but we manage somehow. We try to keep stock of what folks ask for most. It’s a lot of work keeping track of everything, especially with the way the market changes. My sons help out with the inventory and the accounts now. We just open up in the morning, do our bit, and go home. That's really all there is to it. No big speeches or corporate talk here, just a family trying to run a shop in a busy corner of Delhi.
