Ved Prakash Mittal & Sons

We are located at 27/20 Shakti Nagar. It is a very familiar spot for anyone who goes to Delhi University because we are right near the campus. Ved Prakash Mittal & Sons has been around for a long time, and the building shows its age a bit. We have high ceilings and thick walls that keep it somewhat cool in the summer. Being near the university means there are always students walking by, talking and laughing. Our shop is filled with various items, and it can feel a bit cramped when more than two people are inside. We don't have a modern layout. Things are stacked where they fit, and we know exactly which pile has what. The street outside is always lively with food vendors and people looking for books or supplies. We start our day by sweeping the front and setting out some of the displays. It’s a family-run thing, so we all know each other's habits and how the work goes. We don't use any complicated systems for our inventory. Most of it is just kept in our heads or written in big registers. We talk to the customers like they are neighbors because most of them are. It is a simple way to run a business, staying close to the roots and just being a part of the Shakti Nagar community every single day. The traffic here is always loud.
