Gulshan Material Co. is located at 181 in the New Lajpat Rai Market. If you’ve been to the market, you know it’s a crowded place with stalls and shops everywhere. We are just one of many, but we’ve been in this spot for a good while. We deal with various materials, so our space is often cluttered with rolls or stacks of supplies. There isn't much room to walk around once the new stock arrives. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. People come to us because they know we usually have what they need in the back. The air is always a bit dusty from the market, and it can get quite hot in the summer months. We just keep the small fan going and get on with the day. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there’s no corporate hierarchy here. We just all pitch in. Sometimes we sit on stools near the entrance and talk to the other shop owners when it’s slow. We don't spend money on ads or big signs. The old sign above the door does the job just fine. We just try to keep the inventory sorted, though it’s a constant battle. It’s a basic way of doing business, face to face with the customers who walk through the market. We don't expect things to change.
