Ram Partap Lehari Mal (P) Ltd.

We have been here at Katra Tabacco in Khari Baoli for quite some time now. Most people know this part of Delhi is crowded and loud, but it is where we do our work every day. The shop isn't anything fancy to look at, just a regular place where we handle our business. Ram Partap Lehari Mal (P) Ltd. started small and we just kept going with the same routine. Sometimes the traffic outside makes it hard for deliveries to reach us on time, but that is just how things go in this market. We deal with various items that come through here. It is mostly about getting the inventory right and talking to the people we have known for years. My father used to say that as long as the shutters are up, we are working. We don't spend much on decorating the office inside the Katra because the stock takes up most of the space anyway. It gets dusty and hot in the summer, yet the work doesn't stop. We have a few staff members who have been with us since they were young men. We drink tea from the stall nearby and check the books. It is a simple life of buying and selling. We don't have a big website or anything. If someone needs us, they usually just walk through the narrow lanes of Khari Baoli and find the sign. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the market closes at night.
