Navyog Industries

You can find Navyog Industries at 322-C, Punja Sharif, right near Kashmere Gate. If you’ve ever been to this part of Delhi, you know it’s a total maze of narrow lanes and people moving everywhere. Our building is old, like most things around here, and it has thick walls that keep it a bit cooler in the summer. We make industrial items. It’s a lot of metalwork and using machines that have been around for decades. They still work better than the new ones sometimes. The floor is always a bit oily and there’s a constant smell of cut metal and grease in the air. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. We just have a desk in the corner where we keep the ledger and the phone. It gets loud when all the machines are running at once, so we have to shout to be heard. We’ve been in this spot for years and we know all the other shop owners on the street. It’s a tight community. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Most of our work comes from long-time customers who know we can handle the heavy stuff. Every morning we open the shutters and start the engines. It’s hard work and your hands are never really clean, but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep at it day after day and hope the traffic isn't too bad.
