Sadar Bazar is a place that never really stops moving. Our shop is tucked into 2486 / 15 in the Teliwara section. It’s been here for quite some time now. My father started things off, and now it is just us carrying it on. When you walk into Teliwara, it’s loud and there are people pushing carts everywhere. We deal with a lot of different items depending on the season and what people are asking for. Our space is cramped with boxes stacked nearly to the ceiling. We don't have fancy lights or air conditioning. Most days involve a lot of shouting to be heard over the street noise and checking off lists on pieces of paper. It’s a family business through and through. We eat our lunch in the back room and wait for the next person to walk in. We aren't looking to change much about how we work. It’s worked for us this long, so we just keep at it. Sometimes the rain leaks in a bit near the front door, and we have to move the stock around. That's just how it is in an old building like this. We know the neighbors and they know us. We spend most of the day just managing the inventory and making sure the counts are right. It’s a lot of manual labor, but it keeps us busy from morning until late evening. Sometimes we get tired of the chaos, but this shop is our life.
