Union Tools

Hauz Qazi is one of those places that never really sleeps, and we are right in the thick of it at 3256/119 Gali Hakim Baqa. Being near the metro station is a help, otherwise, people might never find us in these narrow alleys. Union Tools has been tucked away in this corner for quite some time. It’s a tight squeeze inside the shop because we have so many different tools crammed onto the shelves. The walls are covered in wrenches, drills, and things I don’t even have names for sometimes. Outside, the street is always packed with rickshaws and people carrying heavy loads on their backs. It’s loud and it can get very hot in the summer months. We usually have tea delivered from the stall around the corner twice a day to keep us going. Our customers are mostly local workers or people who travel in on the metro specifically looking for hardware. We don’t have a website or anything like that. If you want to see what we have, you just have to come down to Gali Hakim Baqa and step inside. It’s a bit dusty and the lighting isn't great, but we know exactly where everything is located. We’ve spent years organizing this place in a way that only makes sense to us. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know and we do it every day without fail. Sometimes we stay late to finish up the paperwork.
