Umesh Trading Co.

Umesh Trading Co. is located at shop number 70 in the New Lajpat Rai Market, right in the heart of Chandni Chowk. To get here, you have to push through the crowds and avoid the rickshaws that are always buzzing around. Our shop is one of many in this old market, and it is a tight squeeze once you get inside. We have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, filled with everything we trade. Every morning, we roll up the shutters and start by clearing the dust from the night before. Chandni Chowk is a place that never really stops, and being in Lajpat Rai Market means we see a massive variety of people every single day. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything like that. People know where we are, and we just talk to whoever walks through the door. Usually, we are drinking tea while we count out items or write down orders in our ledgers. The fans overhead try their best to keep us cool, but it is always a bit stuffy. We like the history of this area, even if it is loud and messy. It is a traditional way of doing business where your word and your location matter. We have seen the market change over the years, but shop 70 stays pretty much the same. It is just us doing what we know how to do.
