Mark Gifts is located over here on Chamelian Road. If you know Bara Hindu Rao, you know it's always crowded and there's a lot going on in the streets. Our shop is at T 510. We have all sorts of items sitting on the shelves for people to look at. It’s mostly stuff people buy when they need to go to a party or a wedding and want to bring something nice. We've spent a lot of years in this exact spot. The building is old, and the stairs can be a bit narrow and steep, but that's just how this part of town is. We open up early in the morning because the market gets moving fast and you don't want to miss the early crowd. I usually start the day by dusting the glass cases. There’s a lot of dust that comes in from the street because of all the traffic. People come in looking for something small, maybe a photo frame or a little decoration for their home. We don’t really do big advertisements or anything like that. Most of our visitors are just people walking by or neighbors who have known us for a long time. It’s a simple business. My son helps me out in the evenings after his classes are over. We talk to the other shopkeepers nearby while we wait for customers. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit outside. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular gift shop. We try to keep a good variety.
