Balaji Gift Corner

Our little shop, Balaji Gift Corner, is right across from the BSES office in Delhi, postcode 110054. It’s a handy spot because people often see us while they’re out running errands or dealing with their electricity bills. We don't have a huge space, but we try to keep it packed with interesting things. It’s the kind of place where you can find a last-minute birthday card or a small toy for a kid. We started this because we liked the idea of a corner shop where people could find a little something to make someone smile. It’s not a high-end boutique. It’s just a regular gift shop with shelves that are maybe a bit too full. Sometimes things get a little dusty, but we try to keep on top of it. It’s usually just one of us behind the counter. We see a lot of different people every day, from students to grandmothers. We don't do any big advertising. The shop window does most of the work for us. On festival days, it gets really crowded in here, and we have to move stuff around to make room. It can be a bit chaotic, but it’s fun. We enjoy being a part of the neighborhood and seeing the same faces come back every few months. It’s a simple business, and we like it that way.
