If you walk down toward the Chawri Bazar Metro Station and head into Jawahar Market, you’ll find us at 244/8. Subham Tools & Hardware has been part of this market at Ajmeri Gate for a long time. Chawri Bazar is famous for being crowded, and our shop is no exception. We have boxes of hardware stacked up to the ceiling in some places. It’s a bit of a miracle that nothing falls over, honestly. We spend our mornings opening up the shutters and moving some of the heavier items out front so people can see them. It’s a lot of lifting and carrying. We deal with all sorts of people, from big contractors to guys just looking for a single bolt. Because we are so close to the metro, we get a lot of foot traffic, which is nice. The air in the market is always full of the smell of metal and spice from the nearby food stalls. We don’t bother with fancy displays. The tools are just there on the shelves or in bins for anyone to look at. Sometimes it’s a bit overwhelming with the noise and the sheer number of people in Jawahar Market, but we’ve learned to enjoy the chaos. It’s just how business is done here. We keep it simple and stay focused on what’s right in front of us, hoping to finish the day on a good note.
