S.S. Tools (India) P.Ltd is over at 234 on the second floor at Ajmeri Gate. Dealing with anything at Ajmeri Gate means you have to be okay with the massive crowds and the constant noise of the market. Our office and storeroom are up a flight of stairs that can be a bit steep if you’re carrying heavy bags of tools. The building is older, and you can feel the history in the walls and the wooden door frames. Inside, we have rows of shelves filled with all sorts of tools and industrial supplies. It’s a bit cramped because we try to keep as much stock as possible on hand. The second floor gets a decent amount of light during the day, which helps with the dim bulbs we have hanging from the ceiling. We spend a lot of time counting inventory and checking orders that come in from the street below. Sometimes it’s so loud outside with the horns and the shouting that we have to raise our voices just to hear each other. We don’t have any fancy showroom; people just come up the stairs and ask for what they need. It’s a very practical way of doing business. We’ve been at Ajmeri Gate for a long time, and we’ve seen shops come and go, but we just keep stocking our tools and serving the people who climb up to find us.
