S.R. Engineering Corporation

Mori Gate is always crowded, and our spot at 3895 is right in the middle of it. S.R. Engineering Corporation has been here for years. It’s a tight space. We have tools everywhere and the floor is usually covered in metal shavings. You have to watch where you step. It’s an old building, so the walls have some cracks. We don't mind. We spend most of our time at the lathes or dealing with suppliers who come through the narrow lanes. It’s a lot of noise from the street outside, honking and people shouting. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just wait it out or work by the door where there’s light. My dad started this place, and I took over. I remember coming here as a kid. Not much has changed inside. We have some old machines that still work better than the new ones. It gets hot in the summer. We have a couple of fans, but they just move the warm air around. People stop by to ask for small fixes. We do what we can. It’s a living. We aren’t trying to be the biggest shop on the block. We just want to finish what’s on the bench today so we can start fresh tomorrow. The grease stays under your fingernails. It is just the way it is here in the market. We keep our tools sharp and our heads down.
