J B Engineering Works is tucked away at C 2/2 in the Wazirpur Industrial Area. If you walk into our shop, the first thing you’ll notice is the smell of machine oil and the sound of metal being worked on. It’s not a quiet place, and it’s definitely not a clean one. We have machines that have been with us for a long time, and they still work better than the new ones sometimes. We spend our days at the benches, fixing things or making parts for other businesses around Delhi. Wazirpur is full of shops like ours, but C 2/2 is where we’ve made our mark. We don’t have a big sign or a fancy entrance. Most of our visitors are people we’ve known for years who just drop by with a part that needs fixing. We drink a lot of chai and talk about how the industry is changing, but mostly we just focus on the task in front of us. It’s hard on the hands and the back, but there’s a certain rhythm to it that we like. We aren't interested in being a huge corporation. We just want to do the engineering work properly and keep the shop running at C 2/2. It’s a local business run by people who actually know how to use the tools. We take each day as it comes and handle whatever work arrives.
