Shri Baba Garib Nath Foundry

The foundry is tucked away in Gali No 10 over in the Anand Parbat Industrial Area. Shri Baba Garib Nath Foundry is the name we’ve used since we opened at M 54. It’s a rough part of town with a lot of smoke and noise, but it’s where we belong. Working with molten metal is hard work, and you can see it on the walls and the ceiling here. Everything has a layer of soot on it. We spend our days melting stuff down and pouring it into molds. It’s a process that hasn't changed much for us over the decades. Sometimes the molds don't come out right, and we have to start all over again, which is frustrating but just part of the job. The guys here have strong hands and they don't mind the heat. We get our mail at the Delhi G P O address usually. The lane is narrow, so getting trucks in and out is always a bit of a headache, especially when the neighbors are unloading their own supplies. We don't have any flashy signs or a website. Most people find us because they heard from someone else that we do okay work. We just stay focused on the furnace and making sure the metal stays at the right temperature. It’s a long day from dawn till late evening, but we’ve got a routine that works for us.
