Shree Shanti Sagar

Our shop, Shree Shanti Sagar, is right on the Main Road in Pahari Dheeraj. If you know Sadar Bazar, you know how hectic it gets around here with all the rickshaws and people carrying big bundles. We have been at 4501/3 for quite a while now. The space is a bit tight because we try to keep as much variety as possible on the shelves. It is mostly household items and small goods that people need every day. We don't use any big computers or fancy systems, just our old ledgers and a lot of memory. Most of the time, I am standing near the front greeting regulars who have been coming to us for ten or twenty years. The noise from the street never really stops but you get used to it. We drink a lot of chai to keep going through the afternoon rush. It is a basic setup with wooden counters and some stools for when our legs get tired. The building itself has seen better days, with some cracks in the walls and stairs that are a bit uneven. We have a small storage room in the back that is always overflowing with new stock. It can be a bit overwhelming when three deliveries come at the same time and there is nowhere to put the boxes. But we always manage to sort it out by the end of the day. We don't use any marketing tricks to get people inside. The door is always open and people just walk in.
