Mother India International Pvt. Ltd. is located right at 1738, Nai Basti Chowk. Being on S.P. Mukherjee Marg means there is never a quiet moment. The traffic outside is always honking and people are constantly passing by. Our office is right in the middle of all that chaos. We do a lot of international trade work, which involves a ton of phone calls and even more emails. The desks are usually covered in shipping documents and half-drunk cups of tea. It’s not a very organized look, but we know where everything is. Most of the people working here have been around for a long time. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. We handle the logistical side of things, making sure goods get across borders without too many hiccups. It’s a lot of waiting on hold and checking schedules. Sometimes things go wrong with a shipment, and we have to scramble to fix it. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything like that. If you come to see us, you’re likely to just pull up a plastic chair near someone’s desk. We prefer it that way. It’s more about the work than the image. The air conditioning is a bit temperamental, so in the summer, we just open the windows and deal with the noise from the chowk. It is just a normal office filled with people trying to get things done. We’ve been here so long.
