Chandu Lal Jain

Our shop is right on the Main Road in Sadar Bazar at 616. If you have ever been to Sadar, you know how packed and chaotic it gets every single day of the week. We have been part of this crowd for a long time. It is a family name, Chandu Lal Jain, and we just keep it going as best as we can. The shop itself isn't very large, but we pack a lot of stuff into every corner. Dealing with the wholesale crowds is a lot of work and takes a lot of energy. From morning until evening, it is just people coming in and out, asking for prices and checking the goods. We don't really have time for fancy displays or nice decorations. The walls are lined with wooden shelves all the way up to the high ceiling. We mostly deal with whatever the market demands at the time. It is very noisy and loud outside with all the carts and people shouting to get through the lane. Sometimes I wonder how we manage in such a small space, but we do it every day. We have seen the market change a lot over the years, but the basic way we do things stays the same. We take the orders, count the cash, and move the stock out. It is a very traditional way of working. There is no corporate structure here, just us and the customers. We know the other shopkeepers nearby and we all just try to get through.
