S V Engineering Works

I set up S V Engineering Works in Gopalpur village on Street Number 8. It’s not far from Mukherjee Nagar, which is handy for getting supplies. The workshop is usually a bit messy with metal scraps and tools lying around. I try to sweep up every evening, but by noon the next day, it’s back to how it was. That’s just the way engineering goes, I guess. We’ve got some heavy machines that make a lot of noise, so I’m glad the neighbors are understanding. My brother works with me, and we’ve had a couple of local boys helping out too. We learned most of what we know just by doing it over the years. Some days are slow and we just sit and drink chai, and other days we’re working late into the night under the tube lights. The roof leaks a little when it pours, but we’ve got a bucket for that. It’s a simple life. We don’t have a fancy website or a secretary. If the phone rings, I usually answer it myself with grease on my hands. Gopalpur is a quiet place mostly, except for our machines. We’ve been in this same spot for quite a while now and don’t plan on moving. It’s a bit cramped, but we know where everything is. People come to us because they know we’ll give them a straight answer about their repairs. It is hard work but it pays the bills every month.
