S D Stores is located right at A-35 in Shyam Nagar. It is a local shop where we keep a bit of everything that the neighborhood might need. We have been here for a good stretch of time. The shelves are usually pretty full because we hate running out of the basics. It is a family run kind of thing. My uncle started it and now we all take turns behind the counter. Shyam Nagar is a busy place, so there is always someone coming in for something they forgot at the big market. We stay open late because that is when people realize they need stuff. The floor is a bit worn down from all the foot traffic over the years, but it shows we have been busy. We don't have any fancy displays or bright flashing lights. It is just a regular store for regular people. Sometimes the kids from the school nearby come in for snacks and they make a lot of noise, but we don't mind. It keeps the energy up. We know which milk people prefer and who likes which brand of tea. That is the nice thing about being in one spot for so long. You get to know the rhythms of the street.
