Om Traders

Om Traders is located right in the middle of Bhagirath Palace, at 1758/59. If you have ever been there, you know it is a complete maze of narrow lanes and hundreds of shops piled on top of each other. Our place is no different, we have boxes stacked up to the ceiling most of the time. It can be a real struggle just to find a specific item when the market is crowded and people are pushing past. We spend most of our day answering the phone and checking what we have left in the back room. It’s a fast pace and you have to be quick on your feet or you’ll miss something. I’ve been working here since I was much younger, helping out with the loading and unloading before I started managing the sales. We don’t really do anything like fancy websites or big marketing campaigns because the market itself is so busy that there is always someone looking for something. Sometimes the accounts get a bit messy or we lose a pen behind a stack of invoices, but we always get it sorted out by the end of the day. It’s a noisy, cramped, and busy way to make a living, but it feels good to be part of such a famous old market. We just keep our heads down and keep moving the stock as fast as it comes in. It's a bit of a grind but we're used to the hustle.
