Raffan Sales Corporation

Our location is 4622 at the corner of Shahtara Street, right inside Ajmeri Gate. It’s a very old part of the city, and the building reflects that. The stairs are narrow and the rooms have those old wooden doors. We use the space mainly for storing and selling our goods. It’s not a polished retail store. It’s more of a warehouse feel where things are stacked up on wooden pallets. We spend a lot of our time opening boxes and checking what’s inside. The street outside is always packed with rickshaws and vendors, so getting things in and out can be a bit of a nightmare sometimes. We usually have to wait for the right time of day when the traffic thins out just a little bit. There is a lot of dust because the doors are always open to the street. We have an old desk where we keep the ledger and the phone. We don’t really do any marketing or advertising. People just know we are here at the corner. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting and carrying stuff throughout the day. We take a break for lunch when we can, usually just something quick from a local spot nearby. The days are long, but we’ve gotten used to the pace of life inside the gate. It’s just how we operate. Sometimes the lights flicker.
