R P Gupta & Sons

Our place, R P Gupta & Sons, is located at 4278 G B Road, right in Gali Shahtara. If you know this part of the city, you know the lanes are narrow and always packed with people moving goods. We have been here for years, and the shop feels like a second home to us. It is an old-fashioned way of doing business, where we know most of our customers by name and we still use physical ledgers for a lot of things. The building itself is quite old, and the stairs are a bit steep, but that is just how it is in Gali Shahtara. We handle a lot of different things, and the space is often filled with bags and boxes waiting to be sorted. It gets quite dusty because of all the traffic on G B Road, so we spend a lot of time just cleaning off the counters. There is a certain rhythm to the day here, starting with the morning tea and ending when the street lights finally come on. We aren't interested in being some high-end showroom. We are just a family-run spot where we work hard and try to be fair with everyone who walks through the door. The boys in the shop have been with us for a long time, and we all just get on with the tasks. It’s a crowded, noisy, and busy life, but it is exactly where we belong in this market.
