P.Raj & Company is right at 4900 Hauz Qazi Chowk. If you have ever been to Hauz Qazi, you know it is one of the most crowded places you can find. There are people everywhere and the smell of metal and old buildings is very strong. We have been in this spot for quite a while now. Our shop is full of hardware, tools, and all sorts of industrial bits and pieces. It’s the kind of place where you might have to dig through a few bins to find exactly the right size of bolt or fitting. We don't have a computer system that tracks every single nail, so we rely a lot on memory and just knowing where we put things last. The building is old and the stairs are narrow. It isn't a modern retail store by any means. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy signs. Most of our customers are regulars who have been coming to us for years because they know we usually have what they need tucked away somewhere on a shelf. We just sit here among the boxes and wait for the next person to walk in with a problem they need a tool for. Sometimes it’s quiet, and sometimes five people are shouting for attention at once. We just take it as it comes. It’s just a traditional hardware business in the heart of the old city, doing things the same way we always have.
