Perfect Seal (India)

Our place, Perfect Seal (India), is tucked away at 2854/4 in Ashok Gali, right near Mori Gate. If you’ve ever walked through the lanes around Mori Gate, you know how packed and busy it gets with all the shops and traders. We specialize in seals and related components for machinery. It is a niche business, but there’s always a demand for good seals that don't leak. The shop isn't very big, so we have to be clever about how we stack the boxes of gaskets and rubber rings. It smells a bit like rubber and grease inside, which is pretty standard for what we do. We spend a lot of time measuring things with calipers to make sure the size is exactly what the customer needs for their machine. If a seal is even a millimeter off, it’s no good, so we try to be careful with those details. We’ve been in Ashok Gali for a good while and have seen the neighborhood change, but the way we do business stays mostly the same. We talk to the mechanics and the factory owners who come in, listen to their problems with their equipment, and try to find a seal that works. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s necessary for keeping machines running. We aren't big on fancy marketing; we just focus on the stock we have and getting the right parts to the people who need them. The tea stall nearby is where we go when we need a break. Mori Gate is loud and busy, but we’re used to it by now.
