Old Machinery Tools

Our shop is number 181 in the Meena Bazar Market, right by the Jama Masjid. If you have ever been here, you know it is one of the busiest and most crowded places in all of Delhi. The history of the area is everywhere you look, from the old stone walls to the way the market has been running for many generations. Our space is small and literally packed to the ceiling with all sorts of old machinery and bits and pieces of metal. It is a bit of a maze inside, and if you do not know the layout, you might get lost. We spend a lot of our time digging through metal bins to find the exact part or tool someone is looking for. It is dusty and a bit dark in the corners, but we know where everything is kept. The noise from the crowds outside is just part of the atmosphere here. You hear the calls to prayer and the constant chatter of shoppers and tourists. We sit on small stools and talk to people who come in looking for things they cannot find anywhere else in the city. We do not have a fancy website or any glossy brochures to show people. We just have our stock and our own memory of what is in which pile. It is a slow process, but we like it that way.
