Naveen Mill Stores

Naveen Mill Stores is tucked away in Gali Haqim Baqa, over in the Hauz Qazi area. If you know the neighborhood, you know it’s full of narrow lanes and old buildings. Our shop is at 3381/7, and it’s packed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of hardware and mill supplies. We have everything from bolts to heavy pulleys, and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer is asking for. It is dusty work. We spend a lot of time climbing ladders to reach the top shelves. The shop has been here for a long time, and the wooden counters are worn smooth from years of people leaning on them. There’s no air conditioning, so in the summer we just keep the fans going and drink a lot of water. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there’s always someone around to help, even if they’re in the middle of lunch. We don’t do much advertising; people just know we’re here when they need a specific part for their machinery. The street outside is always blocked with delivery rickshaws and people haggling over prices. It can be a bit overwhelming if you aren't used to the chaos of Hauz Qazi. We just keep the inventory moving and try to stay organized as much as we can in such a small space. It’s a regular life, selling parts and talking to the local mechanics who stop by to share some news.
