Jagjeet Engg. Works (Regd.)

Down here on Zamir Street, we spend most of our time around machines and metal parts. Jagjeet Engg. Works (Regd.) has its workshop at 9864-65, right in the middle of Nawab Ganj. Azad Market is always loud and crowded, but that’s the way we like it. We’ve got oil on our hands and a lot of steel around us every day. It’s a registered business, so we keep our books in order, though the office part is small. Most of the action happens on the floor where the tools are. We don't have a big fancy showroom. If you come by, you’ll probably hear the noise of the lathes and the smell of cutting fluid before you see us. The space is packed with projects we’re working on. Sometimes we have to move stuff out to the street just to have room to move. It’s a gritty job, but it’s what we know. My father started this kind of thing, or someone like him, and we just kept it going at this address. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but work comes first. People know where to find us in Nawab Ganj when they need something fixed or built. We don't talk much, we just get to it. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter, but the work stays the same. We have a few old fans that try their best. It's just a regular workshop.
